THE SMITH 4 (Pretty Scared)

 

Episode four

Someone came in through the gate to deliver a package Nnalok had earlier ordered for.

He wind down the car glass and stretched his hands out, for the package from the delivery agent.

He made signatures and then left.

"when are you going to tell me, about your mom?"

" what about her?" " i heard, you know."

Caroline had earlier spoken with her mom also last night, earlier.

 "Mom I am aware, I know the circumstances surrounding my union with him but I never felt such peace from a man before. I love him and he does too –"

"who told you marriage is built on love alone? Her mom replied snapply. - can’t you see what I am seeing!? His family are not receptive enough especially his mom’ hmm... please break from that union, there other men out there okay!? Caro! are you hearing me? Caro!"

She gave a reluctant "Goodnight" and then hung up. I heard you mom, but... The proper response came only to her thoughts.

"Look babe, I’m worried. Marriage is a life time commitment, I don’t want to swear to my own heart shatter, your mom hates me and she makes it so obvious. I’ve parent too, that care about me and they are like wise worried."

 Looking away she said, "Look babe, maybe we should just..."

Parking at a car lots, Nnalok took his hands off the steering to concentrate on her.

"Babe, I know there are a lot of pressures and I know you are scared but you have to trust me. I won’t let anything bad happen to you. Please don’t have a second thoughts, I can’t deal with it" He said those folding her hands in his.

she looked away, taking her hands as well. She brought out her phone to busy the time. 

She reminisced how his mom had sent a lady, his Ex to cause a crack in their relationship. She had not relented in making sure they separated. For no reason Nnalok’s mom detested her, she finds fault in everything she does and says. 

Although she was told, it was her nature to chase every lady away from her step son. Nnalok had sworn not to give up on this relationship.

He had said, "I am going to hang on to this, baby I promise" But, I need more than his words to keep me in all of this.

 His mom crossed the line when she sent his Ex to spend the weekend at his house just to take his attention away to Aisha.

 Can I go on with this? 

"Babe, please turn on the engine, we would be late!"
