THE SMITH 1 (The Costly Check)

Episodes one

Trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle that was in a bid of overtaking an oncoming trailer.

Nnalok drove out of the road, to escape collusion with the oncoming vehicle.

He almost lost control of the steering, trying to get grip of the wheels via the steering to avoid running completely off the road to the bush; one might not know if there is a ditch

He successfully avoided pot holes as he drove off road but, he didn't for the last, that got his car down in a hole.

The car gave out a sound, "must be the tire" he thought.

He pulled over and went down to check his 'new ride'

Seconds before that, he had told his wife to remain in the car with the little baby so he can check the wheels. 

Leaving the car, he went to the rear left wheel to check the tyre.

Bending over to check properly and closely, the car jerked. 

The engine went ON and in seconds the car was in motion.

The car sped off with his wife and baby inside.

“Hey!!!” running as hard to meet up with car, he yelled.

Even with his race, he couldn't catch up.

The vehicle went out of sight.

"My family! My family! Somebody help me!!" He was screaming.

Nnalok was loosing it, his whole life was gone.

 To where? With whom?

 With profuse perspiration, Nnalok ran into the road; an high way screaming as though it was a provoked Dog barking.

"Somebody please help me!  My family! Taken away!” "leave the road idiot" A Bus driver hurled insult. 

He insistently kept screaming and waving; throwing hands up with bitterness and desperately

30 minutes later, A vehicle that drove pass him decelerated and parked.

Nnalok didn't notice, he was still screaming with intensity and tension, they would have gone far by now, he worried.

"Peeee" The car horned.

He turned back to see the grey Sienna, with its driver throwing hands out the whined glass to wave at him.

Nnalok ran to meet him, “please help me! My family has been taken away, I need a ride” "Where you dey go?" " Kateri police station, it's just few kilometers from here" " enter for motor" the driver consented.

"Ehm, please sir I don't have money too" " Bà Masàla" "Thank you so much sir" He got in.

 The driver noticed how tensed he was and disturbed.

" What haffen to us?" The middle aged man with only two healthy fingers controlling the steering asked with an Hausa accent.

"It's a long story Oga" Nnalok said with no facial expression. He was not interested and ready for any conversation, he was eager to get to the station to lay complain.

"Where are they now? Who drove the car? Is this my wife playing an expensive prank on me? Are they safe?" This is too much for me! Nnalok voiced out after several thoughts.

Few minutes passed and they were in kateri community.

"Oga, it's okay here" Nnalok said to the driver.

The driver decelerated and parked, off the road.

"God bless you sir, thank you very much" he said alighting.

The driver waved 'peace' and drove off.
