THE SMITH 2 (Memories)

 Episode Two

Trying to avoid collision with an oncoming vehicle that was in a bid of overtaking another, a heavy loaded trailer on a high sloppy road…...

He stopped writing and then the pen he was holding firm earlier, let loose and found it's way to the floor.

“why is this happening to me, God!!! Why!!? " he was broken. He had his hands wrapped around his head. The world was spinning round, he was confused and perplexed, he was hurting deeply.

He relaxed on the wooden chair, void of strength. The emotional tension was affecting him physically, he wondered if the police could even do anything at the point. 

He got to the station three hours after the incident, he couldn't access an Officer until 95mins later.

Eventually officer Garba came around.

 Its been two hours since his boys went out for a search, along Abuja- Kaduna express, precisely around the Kateri local government to Diko.

The chances of recovering his 'life' was slipping away. He thought about Caroline, his wife, his lifeline!

”Mom, how are you doing?” “I’m fine my dear ” 

“yeah, fine indeed?” “why would you say that” 

“Mom, I know if you weren't, you will be sleeping already ” “hmm, It's about 'Your lifeline'" she said that in quotes.

- Nnalok left Caroline in the bedroom for the Rest room to finish the rest of the conversation -

"What about her?"

- He got dizzy with the world's turn, he was having visuals, of 'visions of memories' that were spinning round, randomly.

He was engulfed in the stir and gradually became dizzy. 

His hands were around his head. Tear drops were inevitable at this point, he tried trapping them in his eye balls. But nah, it was dropping uncontrollably. He couldn't help crying as a baby. 

He had lost his whole life; his wife and kid, his whole life documents, his car, his ATM card, his wallet and his Being. "Can I survive through the times?" -

“ She cannot be your wife, i forbid it"

 "I thought we made a conclusion on this matter already? ” 

" That was your father's idea not mine! So, pull it off"

Nobody could understand why she hated the lady and other ladies Nnalok has been with. 

Nnalok at 31, finalized on settling with Caroline after having received opposition from his step mom towards four ladies he had proposed earlier.

 "I'm sorry mom, i Can't ..." She hung up in fury. 

“Baby what's wrong, Mom again? "

 He pulled her close to give her a reassurance kiss.

 "It's going to be fine" he said that, pulling her forehead to his lips.

It was the next morning of that day, Nnalok got dressed for work, Caroline also. 

It was a norm to have him drop her at her place of work whenever she pays visit, before proceeding to the company; a construction company at Lugbe.

Just as they were about to reverse, someone came through and .....
